When gaming powerhouse Electronic Arts wanted to move into the social gaming space, they looked to Fuel to create a new caliber of pet game for Facebook. The result was Pogo Puppies, a dog-centric multiplayer experience that combines sleek visuals, competition, and customization - allowing players to select & customize their pooch, perform tricks and compete in dog shows to unlock new areas of exploration & interaction.
Pogo Puppies hits a broad demographic, with the appeal mainly targeting Facebook's female casual gamers.
Months of brainstorming & development paid off with a rich final product that not only tugs at the heartstrings of users, but encourages bonding with their virtual pet - this experience offers the unconditional love of a dog without having to pick up the poop!
In Pogo Puppies, players start out by adopting their designer dog and making him/her perfect in the Puppy Editor. With 7 breeds to choose from at launch, new owners can decide on which pup is right for them by checking the general temperament/stats of each breed. Certain types are smarter, stronger or more obedient than others; it's all a question of whether or not you can be the alpha dog in the relationship. After naming and customizing the dog, players can take a quick sniff round and begin to personalize their Dog House found within the Puppy Village. New owners are given a tutorial on how to train and care for their pet, along with a basic starter kit of food, water and a toy to get them going. There's a lot to do in Pogo Puppies as the dogs can be taught a wide range of tricks from sitting, waving, dancing to shadow boxing, playing dead, humping...and a whole lot more. Pups will need to get in tip top shape if they want to be a champion.
Puppy Village is a busy place loaded with parks, shops and a competition Arena where pups can strut their stuff against other pooches in the Dog Show to win prizes and accumulate Puppy Points and Puppy Dollars. These currencies are used towards their care and to keep them in the lap of luxury. Ignoring a pooch or not socializing them enough with friends might cause them to runaway, which means the Puppy Patrol will be activated to help find the lost pet.
The more attention, love, flair and socialization a pup gets, the happier they are and quicker they'll level up towards Top Dog status! With microtransactions, world-class animation and audio, Pogo Puppies sets a higher bar for today's social games.
